There have been many interesting interactions between players on the field, especially between Shreyas Iyer and Sam Curran in the second match of ODIs between India and England that was held at Sophia Gardens in Cardiff on Thursday, July 16. It was quite clear how tense it would get after the ball had been hurled towards the Indian batter by Curran in the last phase of a play or anything similar.
It was at a point when India were still looking forward to building their innings on the field. Once the ball was dead, Sam Curran threw it again in Iyer's direction. However, it seemed to have irked Iyer so much that he turned to Curran straightaway.

They started exchanging a lot of harsh words with each other for a few minutes, and this resulted in making the game even more interesting. Umpires and the players present on the field watched it out, but nothing much happened as they stuck to verbal exchanges only. The incident went viral soon, and people expressed their views on it as well, since such incidents tend to happen in highly charged situations.
And the drama arrived on a day when Virat Kohli also crossed another big milestone in ODI cricket, moving past Rahul Dravid and Sachin Tendulkar on a record list during his innings.
India bounce back After Early Wickets
England won the toss and chose to bowl first in Cardiff. India had a decent start, Shubman Gill scored 31 off 30 balls, including six fours, while Rohit Sharma made 26 from 47 deliveries before Will Jacks got him out.
Then Virat Kohli came in and played a pretty firm 65 off 66 balls, with eight boundaries, keeping things steady for India. Ishan Kishan, though, could manage only one run before Sam Curran dismissed him.
Shreyas Iyer stayed composed under pressure and finished unbeaten on 61 from 60 balls. He struck five fours and two sixes, helping India rebuild as wickets kept dropping at the other end.

India Reach 201/7 After 38 Overs
By 38 overs, India were 201/7, at a run rate of 5.29. Alongside Iyer, Gurnoor Brar was batting on 1. India also collected 13 extras, including seven wides and six leg byes. Jasprit Bumrah and Prasidh Krishna were still to come.
For England, Jofra Archer was the standout, 3 wickets for 42 runs in nine overs. Sam Curran took one wicket for 23, while Will Jacks, Gus Atkinson, and Saqib Mahmood each grabbed one. Adil Rashid went wicketless in his five over spell.
So while India kept rebuilding through Shreyas Iyer, that heated verbal exchange with Sam Curran became one of the main talking points of the match, bringing even more tension into an already important ODI battle between the two sides.
