New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party’s national convenor Arvind Kejriwal has awakened a new ray of hope among the youth by demanding from Jantar Mantar to make educationist Sonam Wangchuk the education minister of the country. On Thursday, he met Sonam Wangchuk, who was on hunger strike demanding transparency in the education system and the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, and supported her struggle.
Sonam Wangchuk was made the education minister of the country by replacing Dharmendra Pradhan.
He asked the Prime Minister to remove Dharmendra Pradhan and make Sonam Wangchuk the education minister of the country. But the Prime Minister will not do this, because he fears that Sonam Wangchuk might bring a revolution in education. Only a revolutionary step can fix the rotten education system of the country. Therefore, the country needs both a revolutionary education minister like Sonam Wangchuk as well as revolutionary steps. During this, many senior party leaders including MP Sanjay Singh were present.
Arvind Kejriwal said that I salute all the youth of the entire country who have gathered under the banner of Cockroach Movement to improve the education system of our country. I salute Sonam Wangchuk who is fasting for the last 19 days, risking her life not for herself but for the youth and children of our country.
Arvind Kejriwal said that there are many teachers in our country who raised their voice against paper leak from their respective cities, but they were arrested. Those teachers were tortured in various ways and FIRs were filed against them, I also salute all those people. Sonam Wangchuk is a great educationist. He has fasted many times in the past for Ladakh and the country and today he is putting his life at stake for the country.
Arvind Kejriwal said that when a child goes to appear for a competitive exam, it is not just an exam but a dream for him. When he enters the examination hall, he believes that I will make my future on the basis of my hard work and my intelligence. I had also given IIT papers and after being successful in it, I went to IIT, but in those days papers were not leaked. If papers were being leaked in those days, I probably wouldn’t have had the confidence to give IIT. Both my children are also from IIT and papers were not leaked during their time also.
Arvind Kejriwal said that due to the way papers have started leaking in the country in the last few years, the child’s self-confidence is beginning to waver that if he works hard and is intelligent, he will leave behind even the children of the rich. This wavering self-confidence of children today is not right and is very dangerous for the country.
Arvind Kejriwal said that now papers are being leaked every year. The government granted bail to the mastermind of the paper which was leaked in the year 2024. Now it has become a system that every year papers are leaked, committees are set up, investigation is done, FIR is made, arrests are made, bail is granted and preparations start again for next year’s paper leak. How long will the youth of the country and these children tolerate this?
Arvind Kejriwal said that after the NEET paper leak, more than 20 children committed suicide, but the government did not understand. Not even a lice crawls on their ears, no matter how many children commit suicide. The children who are committing suicide were the children of our homes, but the government did nothing. The entire evaluation system in CBSE went awry, leave alone arrests, the government did not even register an FIR against the company responsible. There is a movement going on in the entire country on such a large scale, yet the government has not made any changes in the system so that papers are not leaked next year. Next year again papers will be leaked and our children will die again and then commit suicide. When will this system change? This system will have to be changed.
Arvind Kejriwal said that this was Jantar Mantar, it was the day of 4th April 2011 and Anna Hazare was sitting here. The government of that time also had a lot of arrogance, but after three years that government could not survive because of its arrogance and drowned. Today is 2026 and I want to tell the government to listen to the cockroach movement of the youth and Sonam Wangchuk, otherwise three years from now they too will meet the same fate as that arrogant government in 2014. This government is losing its mind and is also very much immersed in ego.
Arvind Kejriwal said that Dharmendra Pradhan should resign, but Sonam Wangchuk should be made the education minister of the country. I want to tell the Prime Minister to remove Dharmendra Pradhan and make Sonam Wangchuk the education minister of the country. I know the Prime Minister is not going to listen. The Prime Minister will not make Sonam Wangchuk the education minister of the country, because he is afraid that Sonam Wangchuk might do something revolutionary.
Today, we need revolutionary steps to fix the bad condition of the education system. The education system is not going to improve without revolution. For this we need both a revolutionary education minister like Sonam Wangchuk and revolutionary steps. Appealing to the countrymen, he said that maximum numbers should come to Jantar Mantar on 20th July and make the peaceful Parliament march successful.
During this, senior AAP leader and Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Singh, while quoting the lines of national poet Ramdhari Singh Dinkar, ‘Summer is remaining, only the hunter runs away from sin, time will write the crime of those who are neutral’, appealed to the people sitting in their homes to come out and reach Jantar Mantar. People have to force the Government of India and Narendra Modi to bow down by joining the voice of Sonam Wangchuk.
Sanjay Singh further said that no one will be found in the whole world to be a bigger dramatist than Modi ji. When Corona came to the country and people died due to demonetization, they started crying. The Prime Minister of the country works only day and night to tell lies. Therefore, I am assuring that from July 20, after talking to all the fellow MPs inside the Parliament, we will work to fight for the youth. On July 20, on the call of Sonam Wangchuk, I will also come to Jantar Mantar as a worker and companion to join this movement and our other friends will also reach here.
Sanjay Singh said that Arvind Kejriwal has assured that we will support this movement in every way. We also appeal to other political parties and mass movements to support this movement, because Sonam Wangchuk is not fighting her personal battle, but is fighting for crores of youth of the country, the future of India and tomorrow.
