Hyderabad (Telangana) [भारत]July 17 (ANI): Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Thursday stressed that sports enthusiasts should pursue their career in sports with passion. “Without focus one cannot achieve excellence in sports or any other field,” the Chief Minister stressed.

According to a release, the Chief Minister made the remarks after the Hyderabad e-Champions team, winners of the TG20 League, paid a courtesy call on him. He handed over the checks to the team in the presence of head badminton coach Pullela Gopichand and Eenadu Group Managing Director CH Kiran.

Government will promote sports

Speaking on the occasion, CM Revanth Reddy said that the state government has unveiled a vision to promote sports and bring back the glory of Hyderabad, which had hosted national level sports events long ago. "Special emphasis is being laid on sports as the government has introduced a special sports policy for Telangana," the Chief Minister said.

The CM further said, “The government was already providing jobs and cash awards to those winning medals in national and international sports events.”

Development of sports infrastructure

Pointing out that the government is focusing on developing sports infrastructure, the CM said a sports university has already been established and the Gachibowli Stadium has been upgraded to international standards. “TG20 was a good platform for players from villages to showcase their talent,” the Chief Minister said, and expressed hope that the winners would bring glory to the country in the future.

The Telangana Chief Minister also highlighted the role of such platforms in identifying and nurturing sports talent from rural areas.

In a post on X, CM Reddy also said, "I congratulated the Hyderabad e-Champions team, winners of the TG20 League, by presenting a cheque. Platforms like TG20 are extremely useful in bringing out talent from rural areas. We are encouraging every athlete who excels in sports by providing them with government jobs as well as cash awards. For the development of the sports sector, the government is implementing programs like a special sports policy, a sports university and developing the Gachibowli stadium to international standards. Is."

Congratulating all the participants and winners of the competition, Reddy wished the athletes success at the national and international levels, and said that their achievements will make Telangana and the country proud. "Hearty congratulations to every athlete who participated in the competition and to those who emerged as winners.
