Virat Kohli has become the Indian batsman to score the most 30 ODI half-centuries among SENA countries. He overtook Rahul Dravid (29) by scoring 65 runs in the second ODI against England. However, in this match the Indian team was reduced to 233 runs.

Kohli made a great record in SENA countries

Virat Kohli has added another milestone in his illustrious ODI career. He has become the Indian batsman with the most number of half-centuries in SENA countries (South Africa, England, New Zealand and Australia). His half-century in the second ODI of the ongoing three-match series against England was his 30th ODI half-century in SENA countries, which is a new Indian record.

Kohli now tops the list of Indian batsmen with most ODI half-centuries in SENA countries with 30 half-centuries. He has left behind Rahul Dravid (29), Sachin Tendulkar (25), MS Dhoni (24), and Mohammad Azharuddin (17).

India limited to 233, England got the target of 234

Now Kohli, who has played only ODI for India, scored 65 runs on 66 balls in Cardiff. The Indian team, which won the first match easily by six wickets, was asked to bat first, after which it was all out for 233 runs in 44 overs in the second ODI against England at Sophia Gardens, Cardiff. Despite half-centuries from Kohli and Shreyas Iyer, the visitors failed to take advantage of the good start as England's disciplined fast bowling attack took wickets at regular intervals.

Kohli-Iyer partnership, middle order scattered again

India made a cautious start on a seamer-friendly pitch, after which Rohit Sharma (26) and captain Shubman Gill (31) made useful contributions. Ishan Kishan, who came into the team in place of unwell KL Rahul, could score only one run. Kohli and Iyer then took over the innings with a crucial partnership, with Kohli scoring a quickfire 65 before becoming the victim of Jofra Archer.

After Kohli's dismissal, India's middle-order crumbled under pressure as Shivam Dubey, Axar Patel and Washington Sundar could not even touch double figures. Iyer held the ball together with a composed innings of 66 runs off 71 balls, while Jasprit Bumrah's unbeaten 20 helped India cross the 230-run mark in the end. Archer performed brilliantly with figures of 3/42, while Gus Atkinson also took three wickets. Returning Saqib Mahmood took two wickets as England set a target of 234 runs to stop India and level the three-match series.
