Prakriti Nautiyal , currently seen in Sairaab , is headed for a divorce , bringing an end to her two-year marriage with stock trader Vandit Shah . The couple tied the knot on February 14, 2024, and has now mutually decided to part ways. They have filed for divorce, and the next hearing in the matter is scheduled for November.
While Prakriti remained unavailable for comment, a source tells us, “Prakriti and Vandit seemed deeply in love and got married after a six-month courtship. However, things took a turn soon after the wedding. There were frequent disagreements and arguments, and over time, they realised they were not compatible. They eventually decided to separate amicably and filed for divorce by mutual consent. Prakriti moved out of her marital home in August that year and has been living separately since.”
In May this year, Prakriti, who is currently part of Sairaab, had spoken to us about the abrupt shutdown of her previous show, Shehzaadi... Hai Tu Dil Ki, in which she had high expectations. The official Hindi remake of the Telugu series Karthik Deepam , which premiered in December, was abruptly taken off air in March due to low ratings. Speaking about the sudden shutdown, she had said, “It takes time to get into the skin of a character, and in this case, we had to follow the original very closely, almost frame by frame, which made the process even more demanding. Just when we found our rhythm, we were told the show was shutting down. It was disappointing and heartbreaking.”
The format also came with its own set of creative challenges. “We had suggested that we be allowed to interpret the characters in our own way, but we were required to closely replicate what had already been done in the original. While I took it up as a challenge and did enjoy certain aspects, it wasn’t always creatively fulfilling. At times, it felt like mimicry, which is not something I'm particularly good at,” she had said with a laugh.
