National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the result of NEET UG re-exam, ending the wait of lakhs of students. Dominance of toppers and glory of women candidates
A special thing in the results of NEET UG this year was that more than 58 percent of the candidates who qualified in the examination were women. The qualification rate of women (56.8%) has been better than that of male candidates (55.1%). Whereas, if we talk about the topper list, Aryan Gupta of Punjab and Panshul Bansal of Haryana have jointly topped by scoring 715 marks out of 720.
If we look at the exam data, 19 candidates have scored more than 700, 1,492 candidates have scored more than 650 and 10,160 candidates have scored more than 600. A total of 90,780 students have crossed the 500 mark. Additionally, of the 138 candidates who scored more than 690 out of 720, 93 per cent are first-time students, and 99 per cent of the top rankers are aged between 17 and 19 years.
Changes in result process
This time NTA had completely changed the process of releasing the result. Multiple stages were completed simultaneously in a parallel manner, which allowed the result to be declared quickly. The provisional answer key was released on June 25 and students were given a chance to lodge objections. After this, OMR sheets and responses were released from 13 to 15 July, and the result along with the final answer key was declared on 16 July. Successful candidates have emerged from all 36 states and union territories of the country, including more than 1.7 lakh students from Uttar Pradesh who have qualified.
