Singer-composer Papon and writer-lyricist Vaibhav Modi have come together for
Teri Adaa , the first ghazal from their upcoming extended play
Sar-e-Shaam . The track marks the latest chapter in a creative partnership that began over a decade ago with a chance meeting after a recording session.
Composed and sung by Papon with lyrics by Modi,
Teri Adaa moves away from the ghazal's familiar themes of heartbreak to celebrate the playful banter and quiet intimacy between two people in love.
Reflecting on the collaboration, Modi said the song captures "the teasing, the little battles of wit, and the beautiful unpredictability of the beloved," while Papon described the project as the outcome of years of jam sessions aimed at making the ghazal more accessible to younger listeners.
The duo's association dates back to 2012 and has since resulted in several collaborations. Two more ghazals from
Sar-e-Shaam are expected to be released in the coming months.
