Manchester United are reportedly considering a move for former Leeds United winger Crysencio Summerville in a deal worth around £30 million, according to The Guardian. The transfer could see Summerville reunited with his former teammate Karl Darlow, who recently joined the Red Devils.

Darlow’s arrival at Old Trafford was confirmed earlier this week. The 35-year-old goalkeeper left Leeds United on a free transfer after the expiration of his contract at Elland Road.

The club’s management is said to be exploring the option of selling Marcus Rashford following a turbulent period that included loan stints at Aston Villa and Barcelona. However, his high salary remains a significant obstacle to any potential move. If Rashford does leave, manager Michael Carrick’s side could turn their attention to Summerville, with relegated West Ham United open to discussing a sale.

Summerville, aged 24, netted seven goals and provided three assists across all competitions for West Ham during the previous campaign. Despite his contributions, the club was relegated on the final day of the season, even after a 3-0 victory against already-safe Leeds United. Following the domestic season, Summerville represented the Netherlands at the World Cup, where he recorded two goals and two assists in four appearances.

Darlow and Summerville previously shared a season at Leeds United after the goalkeeper joined the club in 2023 for a six-figure sum following their relegation to the Championship. During that campaign, Darlow served primarily as backup to Illan Meslier, while Summerville enjoyed a standout season.

The Dutch winger scored 20 goals and contributed nine assists, earning the Championship Player of the Year award. However, Leeds fell short of promotion after losing to Southampton in the play-off final at Wembley. Summerville subsequently moved to West Ham that summer in a £28 million transfer.

At the London Stadium, Summerville continued to impress, and a transfer was widely anticipated once relegation was confirmed. Should Manchester United finalise the proposed £30 million deal, West Ham would secure a modest profit of £2 million on the player.
