In Vastu Shastra, cleanliness of the house, balance of directions and correct location of things hold special importance. It is believed that some things present in the house affect positive energy. According to astrology and Vaastu, Rahu is considered a shadow planet, whose inauspicious effect increases and a person may have to face mental stress, financial instability, confusion and sudden problems.

In such a situation, keeping some items in the house for a long time or allowing dirt to spread is not considered auspicious. Let us know about 5 such things which should not be kept in the house according to Vastu.

1. Junk or dirt in the south-west direction

In Vastu Shastra, south-west direction is considered very important. If useless items, broken objects or junk are stored in this corner, then negative energy starts increasing in the house. It is believed that this can increase mental pressure on the head of the family, difficulty in taking decisions and disputes over small matters start happening in the house. Therefore, this direction should always be kept clean and organized.

2. Bad electronic goods and stopped watches

It is not considered appropriate from Vastu point of view to keep mobile, TV, computer, charger, electronic equipment or stopped watches in the house which have been broken for a long time. Such passive objects affect the energy of the house. It is believed that due to these, there are frequent interruptions in work, the pace of progress slows down and there may be unnecessary delay in achieving success. It would be better to get the damaged items repaired or remove them from the house.

3. Dirt spread around the main entrance

The main entrance is considered the entry point for positive energy and happiness and prosperity in the house. If there is garbage, dirty water or scattered shoes and slippers lying here, then the environment of the house can become negative. According to Vastu, the main door should always be kept clean and organized, so that the flow of positive energy continues and happiness and prosperity keep coming into the house.

4. Broken glass, mirror or cracked utensils

Keeping a cracked mirror, broken glass or cracked utensils in the house is not considered auspicious. According to Vaastu beliefs, such objects can increase negative energy. It is said that this increases the possibility of tension in family relationships, lack of mutual trust and obstacles in financial matters. Therefore, it is considered appropriate to replace such items in time.

5. Dirty bathroom and dripping taps

In Vastu Shastra, special emphasis has been given on the cleanliness of bathroom and toilet. If the bathroom remains dirty, smells bad or the tap keeps dripping continuously, then it is not considered auspicious. It is believed that continuous dripping of water indicates unnecessary expenditure of money and financial loss. Therefore, keep the bathroom clean regularly and get any water leakage repaired immediately.
