“The first guy who goes out is Kuldeep Yadav”: Aakash Chopra slams Team India for Kuldeep Yadav’s absence from squad

In a recent analysis shared on his YouTube channel, former Indian opening batsman Aakash Chopra strongly criticized the Indian cricket team management's selection policy.

He fiercely questioned why left-arm wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav is consistently benched despite his match-winning track record. Slamming the recurring decisions to leave the player out of the lineup, Chopra passionately said, "The more you think about him, the more you realize what is happening? Why is justice never done to this guy? Why does this guy never get proper opportunities? We are not treating him well, there is no doubt about it."

The popular commentator further emphasized that this unfair pattern is not restricted to any one venue or format of cricket. He noted how the spinner is routinely used as a scapegoat whenever the team faces balance issues or experiences tactical adjustments. Elaborating on the selector's treatment of the premier spinner, Chopra added, "It has happened in multiple formats. It has happened in India and outside India. He is the first guy who faces the consequence of anything, whether it's a change in strategy, the team not doing well, or the batting not going well. The first guy who goes out is Kuldeep Yadav."

Chopra concluded that the management's underlying habit of selecting finger-spinners or extra low-order batters over a genuine specialist spinner continues to hamper Kuldeep's playing career.

Kuldeep Yadav likely to return for England ODI decider at Lord's: Report

According to reports, left-arm wrist-spinner Kuldeep Yadav is highly likely to return to India's playing XI for the high-stakes third and final ODI against England at Lord's on Sunday. The three-match series is currently tied at 1-1, turning this historic venue into the ultimate battleground for a winner-takes-all finale. India dominant in the opening fixture with a comfortable six-wicket win, but the hosts bounced back strongly in Cardiff, registering a thrilling four-wicket victory to level the scoreline.

Team management is forced to alter the lineup due to an unfortunate fitness blow. Sources indicate that star all-rounder Washington Sundar has been ruled out of this crucial decider after sustaining a severe hamstring injury while batting in the previous match. This sudden vacancy opens the door perfectly for Yadav to make his first appearance of the series. His inclusion adds a distinct tactical advantage, as his deceptive variations and ability to turn the ball both ways will be vital on a dry London pitch.

Captain will look to use Yadav as a primary weapon to break partnerships in the middle overs, a phase where India struggled to contain England's batters in the last game.
