India and England: The last match of the ODI series between India and England will be played on July 19 at Lord’s. Before this match, captain Rohit Sharma is being talked about the most. If media reports are to be believed, this match could be the last international match of Rohit’s career. However, at first BCCI denied the rumors of Rohit’s retirement. After this, just a day before the match, the Indian bowling coach also said that there is no problem or concern in the team regarding Rohit’s form.
What did Morkel say about Rohit Sharma’s form?
Indian bowling coach Morne Morkel supported Rohit Sharma and said that he is an experienced player and can single-handedly turn the match. Understanding Rohit’s difficulties, he said that facing the new ball in this series against England has not been easy. While talking to the media before the third ODI, Morkel said that starting with the new ball is indeed a very difficult task. The ball is swinging a lot in this entire series, so it is not easy to score runs in the beginning. But I have full confidence that Rohit will get himself out of this problem.
Morkel further said that Rohit has come out of such difficulties many times before, his old experience will be useful this time. His presence in the team also gives confidence to other batsmen. Therefore, there is no tension or problem in the team regarding his way of playing. Rohit’s performance in the England series has not been good. In the first match, he was out after scoring 11 runs. In the second ODI, he played a slow innings of 26 runs on 47 balls. In this series, he has been seen struggling to time the ball properly.
BCCI Secretary also gave a big statement regarding Rohit
On the news of Rohit’s retirement, BCCI Secretary Devjit Saikia said that Rohit is a regular member of the Indian ODI team and will continue to represent the country as long as he is a part of the team. In other words, the ODI match played at Lord’s will not be his last match. Let us tell you that during the third ODI match, the eyes of the fans will obviously be on Rohit Sharma. Rohit would like to play a big innings with the bat in the Lord’s ODI match.
