As Didier Deschamps prepares to lead France for the final time this Saturday night (11 p.m.) against England, Kylian Mbappé has paid a heartfelt tribute to his long-time coach.

This Saturday’s World Cup third-place playoff between France and England marks the end of an era, as Deschamps will step down to make way for Zinédine Zidane. Just hours before the decisive match against the Three Lions, Mbappé took to social media to share an emotional message dedicated to his manager.

On X, Mbappé wrote: “Today marks your final dance. You, who have given us so much. We should have given you a better ending, but we fell short. He continued: “Thank you for giving me the chance and the honour to represent my country on the biggest stage for so many years. I feel privileged to have shared this journey with one of the greatest legends of our nation, and I will forever cherish the wonderful memories of everything we have experienced and accomplished together.”
