In luxury interiors, sharp edges are making way for softer, sculptural silhouettes . Curved sofas, rounded armchairs, and organically shaped coffee tables are becoming defining features of high-end homes , reflecting a growing preference for spaces that feel fluid and inviting.
Speaking about the renewed interest in curved furniture , Kapil Bharti, co-founder and director of a furniture brand, explains, “The resurgence of curved furniture is driven by a desire for homes that feel warmer, more personal, and expressive. Rather than replacing straight lines, curves are expanding the design vocabulary, making luxury interiors feel softer, more inviting, and distinctly individual.”

Bespoke pieces become a status symbol
Experts say curved furniture requires greater skill to craft, making bespoke pieces more exclusive and increasingly sought after by luxury homeowners.
Mita Mehta, founder and interior stylist-curator of a design studio, shares, "Homeowners are no longer asking for a curved sofa. They're asking for one built to the exact radius that complements their rug, room and artwork. What they're really investing in is a piece that could not exist in any other home. That level of specificity is what makes it feel luxurious, not the shape itself."

Styling curves
Curved furniture isn't just meant for large homes. Mita Mehta says it can work equally well in compact spaces when styled correctly. "Curves are one of the most useful design elements in a smaller room. A sharp-cornered sofa can make a compact space feel rigid, while a curved one blends in more naturally," she says. The trick, she adds, is to avoid overcrowding the area. "The curve isn't the challenge—the styling around it is. Keep the space around it simple, leave enough room for it to stand out, and avoid placing too many statement pieces nearby. Done right, a curved sofa can make a small room feel thoughtfully designed rather than cramped."
