According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), monsoon will remain active over northwest, east and northeast India for the next 6-7 days. During this period, there is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rain at many places, while there will be less rain in West-Central and South India.

There may be heavy rain in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya on July 19, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim. There may be heavy rain in Uttarakhand on 19th and 20th July. On July 20 and 21, heavy to very heavy rain may occur at some places in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh. There may be heavy rain at some places.

Chhattisgarh and Meghalaya recorded the highest rainfall, more than 21 cm, in the last 24 hours. Very heavy rainfall has been recorded in Punjab, West Bengal, Sikkim, Jharkhand, Arunachal Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. Heavy rain has been recorded in many areas including Himachal, Uttarakhand, Eastern Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Konkan-Goa, Odisha, Bihar and Kerala.

Heavy rain is likely over Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal and Uttarakhand between July 19 and 24, with very heavy to extremely heavy rainfall at isolated places on July 20 and 21. Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Chandigarh and Rajasthan may also experience rain and thundershowers along with strong winds for several days.
