He said that some Muslim scholars believe that Shri Ram and Shri Krishna can be included among the 1.24 lakh prophets. However, he also said that the history is very long and it is definitely not easy to say anything on this subject.

Controversy started after the statement of Maulana Jarjis
This whole controversy started after an alleged video of Maulana Jarjis Ansari, a resident of Etawah, Uttar Pradesh, surfaced. In the video, Maulana was seen commenting on Lord Krishna. He had claimed that Shri Krishna was associated with Muslim faith and he used to pray five times a day.
Statement given in Deoghar program
It is being told that Maulana Jarjis Ansari had given this statement during a meeting organized in Deoghar, Jharkhand on 23 June. After his statement came to light, many Hindu organizations expressed their displeasure and demanded action.
Hindu Mahasabha lodged complaint
A complaint was lodged at Hazratganj police station on behalf of Hindu Mahasabha in Lucknow regarding Maulana’s statement. Members of the organization alleged that such comments could hurt religious sentiments.
Geeta’s verse was mentioned
In his statement, Maulana Jarjis had mentioned a verse from the sixth chapter of Srimad Bhagvad Gita and said that Lord Krishna had given the message to Arjun to connect with God and do spiritual practice. He had expressed his views on this basis.
