Mumbai Famous actor of Bollywood and South Indian cinema R. Madhavan recalled the time in his career when, despite success, his enthusiasm for work started decreasing. He told that at the age of about 40, he realized that he was just working without any enthusiasm, and his wife Sarita was the first to notice this change. In an interview, Madhavan said that everything was going well in his career at that time. He was getting films and work was going on continuously, but the enthusiasm he had earlier for new stories gradually ended. The restlessness of getting up early in the morning to go to the set was also gone. He told that his wife Sarita was the first to draw his attention towards this change.

Passion was lost amidst success

Madhavan said that he was at a point in his career where there were neither any major failures nor any extraordinary successes. Everything was going on normally, but he had gone into autopilot mode internally. He admitted that it was such a comfort zone that gradually weakened his sense of hunger and struggle.

Money had eliminated fear

The actor told that at that time, apart from films, he was earning well from advertisements, corporate events, public appearances and speeches. This ended his financial worries. He says that when fear goes away, the hunger to move forward also goes away, and the same happened with him.

Madhavan said that he himself took a big step to change his situation. He distanced himself from advertisements and other commercial work only to experience insecurity and struggle again. According to him, he wanted to again feel the same nervousness that motivates an artist to do better. R. Madhavan said that the four years between 2011 and 2015 proved to be the biggest “reality check” of his life. This time gave him the opportunity to understand himself, decide his priorities and return with new energy as an artist. According to him, the same experience made him stronger than before for the journey ahead.
