The situation became more serious when a fundamentalist religious singer directly threatened the President in a public meeting and said that if the conditions of supreme leadership were not met, violent action would be taken against him. This statement created a stir in Iranian politics and increased the concern of security agencies.

The continuous absence of the new supreme leader Mojtaba Khamenei in the country is also raising many questions. Till now he has neither addressed the public nor appeared in any major public program.
