The conflict between Iran and America has intensified amid increasing tension in West Asia. On Sunday, Iran fired several missiles and drones towards Jordan, after which the US launched air strikes against Iran. Meanwhile, the death of another American soldier in Iraq has been confirmed by the US Central Command (CENTCOM).

Explosion while destroying drone in Iraq, American soldier dies

An American soldier was killed in an explosion while destroying a downed Iranian drone in Iraq on Saturday, according to the US military. Earlier on Friday, two American soldiers were killed in an Iranian attack in Jordan, while one soldier was missing. On Sunday, the US Army found some unidentified remains, whose investigation is ongoing. The number of American soldiers killed so far since the conflict began has reached 17.

America targeted IRGC bases

The US Central Command has carried out air strikes on the bases of Iran’s powerful army Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC). The US military said that Iran’s coastal surveillance centers, air defense systems, maritime bases and missile-drone stores were targeted in these attacks.

The Central Command said the attacks were aimed at weakening Iran’s influence in the Strait of Hormuz and countering the IRGC.

Iran claims- damage to nuclear plant

Iran has claimed that US strikes have damaged the Darkovin nuclear power plant under construction in south-west Iran. However, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) said that no nuclear material was present there. According to Iranian officials, at least 50 people have died and 517 have been injured in the US attacks so far.

Tension increased due to Iranian attack on Jordan

Iran fired several missiles and drones towards Jordan, after which Jordan, Kuwait and Bahrain alerted their air defense systems. Jordanian forces destroyed several Iranian missiles in the air. No damage has been reported in the attack. Jordan has summoned the Iranian envoy in protest.

Israel warns Iran

Meanwhile, Israel has warned Iran that the missiles fired towards Jordan’s Aqaba city may fall in its territory as well. The Israeli army said it is ready for immediate military action if needed.
