Washington. America’s Vice President JD Vance and his wife Usha Vance have become parents for the fourth time. On Sunday, a son was born to them, who has been named Alec Neil Vance. The special thing is that for the first time in more than 150 years, a child has been born to a sitting American Vice President.

JD Vance issued a joint statement with wife Usha Vance on social media and shared the information about the birth of their son. He said, “We are very happy to announce that we have welcomed a son, who has been named Alec Neal Vance. Both Usha and the newborn are completely healthy and all three of our children are very excited to welcome their little brother.”

The Vance couple already have three children, nine-year-old Evan, six-year-old Vivek and four-year-old Mirabel. The family expressed gratitude to the physicians and health workers at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center as well as the White House medical team for their care and support.

Republican leader J.D. Vance has long been an advocate for American families to have more children. His growing family is believed to be in line with his public outlook.

According to the ‘White House Historical Association’, earlier in the year 1870, son Shayler Colfax III was born to then Vice President Shayler Colfax and his second wife Ellen Wade. After this, for the first time a child has been born to a sitting American Vice President.
