In a blog post on Thursday, Google announced that users can now link and interact with some of their favorite services directly within AI Mode. To further enhance the search experience, Google has integrated Canva, Instacart, and YouTube Music.

The connected apps in AI Mode are designed to help users easily complete tasks on apps they use regularly. Google states that this will significantly assist users with their shopping and planning activities. The company has also listed some key scenarios for using this new feature.

Google explains that users planning a barbecue party can ask AI Mode to create a grocery list and, after linking their Instacart account, add items directly to their shopping cart. They can then check out on the Instacart app or website with just a few taps. Similarly, connected apps in AI Mode will display Canva template options directly based on the user's design requirements. Music lovers can also use AI Mode to generate a playlist and save it directly to YouTube Music.

This integration of Google AI Mode with third-party apps is currently being rolled out in the US. The company has confirmed that it is working with several partners to add support for more apps soon. With this latest update, Google appears to be strengthening its position against rivals like ChatGPT, which already offers app integration.
