New Delhi. Amidst the ongoing tensions between Iran and America, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has once again given a very strong and clear message. In an interview, he said that America and Israel can neither make Iran bow down by threatening nor make it change its policies by luring it in any way. Araghchi stressed that Iran will not make any compromise on its national security and nuclear program. He also said that the world now understands that the Strait of Hormuz is one of Iran’s biggest strategic strengths.

Recalling the early days of the war, Araghchi said that the situation was so serious that communication between top officials of the government and the army was completely broken. Communications were disrupted and for several hours it was not clear who was safe and who was not. According to him, the biggest challenge before the entire leadership system at that time was to understand the situation and maintain administrative control.

The Foreign Minister claimed that before the conflict started, efforts were made through several international channels to put pressure on Iran and persuade it to stop its nuclear program. He alleged that during the talks, attempts were made to sway Iran from its stance through various offers and inducements but Tehran completely rejected it. Araghchi said Iran’s uranium enrichment is not the subject of any deal because the country has faced years of economic sanctions for it and many nuclear scientists have lost their lives.

Referring to the Strait of Hormuz, he said that it is not just a sea route but an important part of Iran’s strategic capability. A large part of the world’s oil and gas trade passes through this route, so its security and control has a direct impact on the global energy market. According to Araghchi, the recent conflict has shown that Iran’s role in the region cannot be ignored.

The Foreign Minister also responded to the ongoing political debate within Iran. He said that despite war and conflict, there has been no change in the basic policies of the country. He also claimed that both allies and adversaries are acknowledging that after recent events, Iran has emerged stronger than before. According to him, difficult circumstances have further strengthened the country’s military and political capabilities.

However, there has been long-standing concern at the international level about the Strait of Hormuz because it is an extremely important sea route for global energy supplies. Any tension in the region could have a cascading effect on oil prices and international trade. For this reason, America and its allies keep a constant eye on the activities in this region.
