Former Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry Kiran Bedi had attended an event in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. Where he gave shocking answers to the questions of journalists. Kiran Bedi clearly told that she does not want to contest elections again on Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ticket. When journalists asked her questions about Cockroach Janata Party and Sonam Wangchuk’s hunger strike, Kiran was seen avoiding answering the question. Apart from this, he praised the air services of Kanpur. Kiran Bedi also told that she is working for skill development of the youth.

Kiran Bedi had gone to Kanpur on Sunday, where she participated in the program of Rotarians. After the program, he gave an interview to journalists, where he told important things ranging from politics to skill development of the youth of the country. Now the question arises that what statement did Kiran Bedi give regarding BJP party, which created a stir in the political circles.

What did Kiran Bedi say?

Kiran Bedi told reporters, ‘I will not make the mistake of contesting elections again by taking BJP party ticket.’ After this the journalists asked what is your opinion on the Cockroach Janata Party movement? In response to this, Kiran said, ‘I do not follow these people, so I will not answer this question.’

Apart from this, Kiran praised the airport system in Kanpur. He said, ‘First one had to come to Lucknow by flight, then one had to come to Kanpur through bad roads.’ Kiran Bedi also told that she started a new startup on her 77th birthday, which is beneficial for today’s youth. Kiran said that he has started a skill exchange startup, which is working for the skill development of the youth.

When did you contest elections with BJP?

In the 2015 Delhi Assembly elections, Kiran Bedi had contested on BJP party ticket from Krishna Nagar seat. He had to face defeat in this election. In his place, Aam Aadmi Party candidate had won. After the defeat in the elections, Kiran Bedi had said at that time that she would never contest elections again.

After this, Kiran Bedi was made the Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry by the BJP government on 29 May 2016. As Lieutenant Governor, he worked in Puducherry for four years. On 16 February 2021, he was removed from the post of Lieutenant Governor.
