A precariously positioned dry tree adjacent to the Pathankot National Highway close to Gaggal Airport has raised significant safety alarms among local residents and commuters. The tree's potential to topple during severe weather conditions poses a serious threat to the safety of thousands of motorists, schoolchildren, and daily travelers.
Community members, including individuals such as Motiram, Abhishek Kumar, Pankaj, Sanjeev Kumar, Gagan, Sangram, and Bunty, have voiced their concerns and are urging immediate action from local authorities. They have formally requested the District Collector of Kangra, the Sub-Divisional Magistrate of Shahpur, the National Highways Authority of India, the Public Works Department, and the Forest Department to take swift measures to eliminate the hazardous tree.
With the high volume of traffic and the regular passage of VIP convoys in this area, residents stress that waiting for an incident to occur would be a serious oversight. They are calling for preventive measures to avert any potential disaster on this vital highway.
