Actor Karan Wahi is receiving backlash on social media following the viral video of a podcast that the actor recorded with Chhavi Mittal. Several Redditors have criticized the actor’s statements on modern relationships and women as some have described his views as “regressive” and “misogynistic.”

During the discussion, the actor compared women of his mother’s generation with the women of this era. The actor said that his mother would remain silent whenever anything troubled her and handle things on her own. Regarding women of this era, he stated, “In today’s time, a woman says, ’f*ck you’ and just moves on.

He also spoke about an incident related to his love life. Karan explained how he used to prefer dating just one girl at a time since he did not want to get confused, but then he later came to know that the same girl was dating seven others as well.

Recalling his reaction, he said, “I’m not judging you, but phir kaise, where will, how will you stop?”



It was not well-received by several social media users. A few believed that even though Karan claimed to be “not judging,” his response came across as judgmental. A few others felt that he was discriminating against women belonging to different eras.

Reacting to the clip, one Reddit user wrote, “So according to him, women should always continue with the role of being the ‘patient,’ calm caretaker? This is so problematic. You are okay with going on dates with two women, but when she does the same, you start slut-shaming?”

Another commented, “He expects women to be patient and quiet because men can’t? Women are no longer putting up with things they had to tolerate for generations.”
