RPF Bengaluru Division Introduces Drone Surveillance for Enhanced Passenger Safety and Security

Indian Railways is continuously adopting advanced technologies to strengthen the safety and security of passengers and railway assets. In a significant step towards modernizing security measures, the Railway Protection Force, Bengaluru Division, has procured Drone Cameras for real-time monitoring of crowd movement, railway property, and passenger safety.

The RPF personnel designated for operating the drones have successfully undergone specialized training at the Karnataka State Police Remote Pilot Training Institute and have been certified as drone operators.

Ashutosh Kumar Singh, Divisional Railway Manager, Bengaluru Division, inaugurated the Drone Surveillance System at KSR Bengaluru Railway Station. During the inauguration, the DRM inspected the drone's capabilities, including the quality of aerial footage, operational range, and surveillance features.

The event was attended by Shreyans Chinchawade, Senior Divisional Security Commissioner/RPF/ Bengaluru Division, along with other senior railway officials.

The newly inducted drone cameras will be deployed at major railway stations and vulnerable locations across the Bengaluru Division.

The drones will significantly enhance crowd management during peak travel periods and special events, improve surveillance of railway premises, and strengthen the security of railway property and passengers through real-time aerial monitoring.
