New Delhi : Samajwadi Party MP Dimple Yadav has launched a scathing attack on the Central Government over the police action taken on CJP’s Parliament march demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and reform in the examination system. He alleged that unarmed students were brutalised, even the clothes of girl students were torn and some policemen behaved like ‘goons’. He described it as a ‘black day’ in the history of democracy and the country.

Today is a dark day for democracy

Speaking to the media, Dimple Yadav said, “Today students were beaten. Today will be remembered as a black day for democracy and our history.” He claimed that many policemen even removed their name plates before taking action and then used force on the students.

The SP MP alleged that some policemen came in plain clothes and beat up the students. He also claimed that the students were given electric shocks and beaten with sticks on their chests instead of their legs, contrary to rules. Dimple Yadav said that today a direct attack has been made on the chest of Mother India.

Also accused of tearing girls’ clothes

He said that he met many girl students participating in the protest, whose clothes were torn. Taking aim at the government, he said, is this your new India, where daughters’ clothes are torn? Reiterating the demand for removal of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Dimple Yadav said that the government should take responsibility for this entire incident and fix accountability. He alleged that the government wants to run the country according to the ideology of RSS instead of the Constitution.

Police batoned the uncontrollable crowd and released tear gas shells.

Earlier on Monday, during the Parliament march, Delhi Police and paramilitary forces erected barricades at many places to stop the protesters on Parliament Street. As the protesters advanced, the police lathicharged and released tear gas shells. After this the crowd was dispersed and many protesters were detained. Later the protesters reached Connaught Place, where the police took action by increasing security. Dimple Yadav said that the opposition will strongly raise this issue within the Parliament also. He said that after raising his voice in Parliament, he will try to visit Jantar Mantar again.
