The song which made a place in the hearts of millions of people after its release, has now come into the limelight due to the royalty dispute. A big dispute has come to light between music composer Tanishk Bagchi and Yash Raj films i.e. YRF regarding the title track of ‘Saiyaara’ (Saiyaara Title Song Controversy). It has been one year since the release of Ahan Pandey and Aneet Padda’s blockbuster film ‘Sayara’, but on this special occasion, instead of celebration, controversy made headlines.

In fact, on Saturday, on Saira’s first anniversary, Tanishk Bagchi shared a long post claiming that till now he has received only Rs 8 lakh as royalty for the film’s famous title track. Whereas he had sacrificed his life for this song. From production to composition, working with lyricists and singers, recording, vocal tuning, sound, arrangement – he did every little thing that mattered. He said that a major part of the song fee was spent on works like production, recording and mixing. According to Tanishq, the royalty received for such a big hit song is very less.
After this claim of Tanishk, the matter came into discussion. After this, Yash Raj Films (YRF) issued an official statement rejecting these claims. The production house said that the title track of ‘Sayara’ has been jointly composed by Tanishk Bagchi, Faheem Abdullah and Ar Salaan Nizami and the royalties to the song have been distributed among all the creators as per the agreement. YRF also clarified that all the artists and music team have been paid on time as per their contracts.
