Lucknow. Monsoon now appears to be fully active in Uttar Pradesh. According to the latest forecast of the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of good rain in most parts of the state in the coming few days. In view of this, different levels of weather alerts have been issued for many districts. The department says that the period of heavy rains may continue till July 22, while there are chances of intermittent heavy rains in many areas till July 25.
Impact of Bay of Bengal system will be visible
According to meteorologists, the low pressure area formed in the Bay of Bengal has now weakened. However, after its weakening, the direction of monsoon winds has become more active towards Uttar Pradesh. Due to moisture-laden winds, the movement of clouds will increase in the state and heavy rains may be recorded in many districts.
Orange alert in 55 districts
In view of the possibility of heavy rain, the Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for 55 districts of the state. Situations like heavy rain, waterlogging and lightning at some places can occur in these areas. The administration has been instructed to remain alert and make necessary preparations at the local level.
Red alert in 15 districts
In view of the intensity of rain, red alert has been issued for 15 districts till July 23. There is a possibility of excessive rain in these districts. People have been appealed to avoid unnecessary travel during bad weather and follow the guidelines issued by the Meteorological Department.
The rainy season may continue till July 25
The Meteorological Department estimates that monsoon activities will continue for the next few days. For this reason, yellow alert has been issued in other districts of the state also. By July 25, intermittent moderate to heavy rains may be seen in many areas, which is likely to bring relief from drop in temperature and humidity.
