There has been a stir in Bhagalpur district of Bihar after it was confirmed that a husband and wife were found infected with Covid-19. District officials have ordered an investigation. According to officials, the RT-PCR test report of a 65-year-old man, who was admitted to Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College and Hospital (JLNMCH) in Bhagalpur on Sunday due to fear of Covid-19 infection, confirmed Covid.
He told that the man’s 55 year old wife has also been found infected. Hospital Superintendent HP Dubey said, ‘Covid-19 infection has been confirmed in both the 65-year-old patient admitted in JLNMCH and his 55-year-old wife. With this, the number of confirmed cases of Covid-19 in the district has increased to two.
doctors are constantly monitoring
He said that both the patients are being treated under intensive medical supervision and the team of doctors is constantly monitoring their condition. According to hospital officials, the man was treated at a private clinic on July 15 when his health deteriorated and he was later transferred to JLNMCH after he developed COVID-19-like symptoms.

The officer said that after the infection was confirmed in the RT-PCR test, his wife was also tested, in which she was also found infected. Dubey said, ‘All protocols to Covid-19 are being followed. The District Program Manager (DPM) has been instructed to get the people living around the residence of the infected couple in Laluchak examined.
