What will be the adulteration rate?

In fact, the government is planning to introduce B5 fuel soon after E20. It will be unadulterated diesel. Just as E20 petrol was made by mixing 20 per cent ethanol with petrol, B5 diesel will be made by mixing 95 per cent diesel with 5 per cent biodiesel. According to the government, this can be used without any modification to the engine.

How will biodiesel be made?

According to information received from Indian Oil, this diesel will be produced from jatropha and karanjaya. Both of these are vegetable oils, which cannot be used for food and beverages. Therefore, they will be used to produce high-quality biodiesel. The government has already successfully produced and tested biodiesel. With the help of Haryana Roadways, Railways and Tata Motors, extensive testing has been done with 5 to 10 per cent blending in the oil.

Will pollution remain under control?

The objective of producing this biodiesel is similar to the E-20 objective of the government. The government believes that it is not right to depend on other countries for oil. In such cases, domestic production is more appropriate. Moreover, it will also control fuel pollution. The target of E-20 has been achieved ahead of schedule.
