Demand for Dharmendra Pradhan's resignation over NEET controversy

New Delhi [भारत]July 20 (ANI): Congress leader Supriya Shrinate on Monday demanded the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the NEET-UG 2026 paper leak and other problems faced by students. He also raised questions as to what decisions the Union Health Minister can take after the meeting with the CJP delegation.

He said that people want Pradhan to resign. "In what capacity is JP Nadda meeting him - is he the education minister or the home minister or the Prime Minister? What decisions can JP Nadda take? Students are protesting; why can't Dharmendra Pradhan meet him? What is he afraid of, and why doesn't he have the morality to resign? The entire country wants Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan's resignation; I want to know why his resignation is not happening," she asked.

CJP submitted memorandum to the Health Minister

Union Health Minister JP Nadda met the CJP delegation, which put forward three demands, including the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, the "release" of hospitalized activist Sonam Wangchuk, and a compensation of Rs 1 crore for the families of NEET aspirants who reportedly lost their lives.

The CJP delegation said the minister assured them that the demands would be addressed at the appropriate level. CJP said that their protest will continue until the Education Minister resigns.

Activist Sonam Wangchuk said she would continue her hunger strike until the youth leaders were allowed to meet members of Parliament or were allowed to meet them at Safdarjung Hospital. (ANI)
