India’s rating is 116, while New Zealand is second with a rating of 111. This means there is only five points difference between the two. Losing the series has narrowed the gap. The Indian team will now play a three-match ODI series against the West Indies in September, while the New Zealand team is currently playing an ODI series against the West Indies. If this situation continues, it will be difficult for the Indian team to maintain its top position. The team will have to get back to winning ways to retain the top spot.
