In the international commodity market, Brent Crude oil remains around $ 90 per barrel. Despite this, it is a matter of relief for the common citizens of the country that even today the Indian oil marketing companies (IOCL, BPCL, HPCL) have not made any major changes in the base rates of petrol and diesel in the major metros of the country. However, due to local VAT and freight charges applicable in the states, there is a slight variation in fuel prices in different cities.

• Mumbai: In the capital of Maharashtra, due to high state tax, petrol remains stable at ₹ 104.21 per liter and diesel at ₹ 92.15 per liter.

• Kolkata: In Kolkata, the capital of West Bengal, today the price of petrol has been recorded at ₹ 103.94 per liter and diesel at ₹ 90.76 per liter.

• Chennai: Chennai residents will have to pay ₹100.75 for petrol and ₹92.34 for diesel per liter today.

Today’s retail rates of petrol and diesel in major cities of various states of the country are as follows:

• Patna: Today in Patna, the capital of Bihar, the price of petrol is trading at ₹ 105.18 per liter and diesel at ₹ 92.04 per liter.

• Lucknow: Today in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh, petrol is available at ₹ 94.65 per liter and diesel at ₹ 87.76 per liter.
