After this strict stance of the Supreme Court, the pressure on the Uttar Pradesh government to clarify the situation in this matter as soon as possible has increased. The court believes that transparency and high level of efficiency is very important in the investigation of financial matters to the temple, so that every aspect can be exposed. Now it remains to be seen what reply the UP government files on these directions of the Supreme Court and which new senior officer is included in the leadership of the SIT.

During the hearing, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, appearing for the Uttar Pradesh government, said that an investigation has been conducted under the leadership of a senior IAS officer and its status report has been filed in the court. Based on the SIT investigation, the police have registered an FIR and so far eight accused have been arrested. However, he said that considering the sensitivity of the case, it would not be appropriate to share detailed information in open court.

On this, the Chief Justice (CJI) said that the court will hear the case again after three-four days. He suggested that a new SIT of senior officers should be formed, in which the officers already investigating would also be included. On this, the Solicitor General, on behalf of the Uttar Pradesh government, assured the court that the government is ready to do so.

The Chief Justice also advised the petitioner not to politicize the matter. He said it was a case of an ordinary economic offense and the investigating agencies should be allowed to do their work independently. The Supreme Court has scheduled the next hearing of the case on July 27. The formation of the new SIT and the progress of the investigation will be further considered on that day.
