Delhi Technological University (DTU) has announced several new educational and research-oriented initiatives to mark its 85th founding year. The university has unveiled plans to launch new academic courses, collaborate with global institutions, introduce advanced industry-aligned courses, and set up enhanced research facilities. Significant steps have also been taken to foster startups, innovation, and skill development. DTU states that these initiatives align with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and aim to provide students with world-class education, superior employment opportunities, and new platforms for research.

The university will launch an integrated BSc-MSc course in Data Science and Applied Statistics. Additionally, a '4+1' accelerated B.Tech-MS program will be introduced in collaboration with the University of Houston (USA), offering students the opportunity to pursue international-standard education.

**Online Certificate Programs**
DTU has decided to introduce a double major track in Economics for B.Tech students. Furthermore, in collaboration with the industry, the university will offer micro-credential courses and online certificate programs—covering areas such as Artificial Intelligence, Renewable Energy Management, and ESG & Corporate Sustainability—for working professionals.

**Research Centers**
According to the university administration, there are plans to launch a new B.Tech course in Mechanical and Automation Engineering in the future. This will be followed by the introduction of new B.Tech programs in Computer Science (Artificial Intelligence) and Quantum Technology.

DTU reported that over 1,000 PhD researchers have earned their degrees from the institution to date. It has also received a grant of ₹1 crore from the Department of Science and Technology to establish a Quantum Technology laboratory. The university has set up several new research centers and signed agreements with various organizations, including the Indian Army, CSIR, and Bajaj Auto.

**Focus on Startups and New Technologies**
Two DTU startups were ranked among the top six at the Delhi Startup Yuva Mahotsav, while another startup secured a place in the Forbes India 'Top 100 Startups' list. Along with this, the university showcased innovative technologies—such as a tricycle equipped with a smart dustbin—and announced the launch of new technical and community projects for rural development.
