With ‘ Jana Nayagan ’ releasing worldwide on July 23, director H. Vinoth made some brave statements about the movie’s theme and importance. The filmmaker believes that the Vijay -starrer is not just another mass entertainer but a film with a bigger message on democracy and politics. His comments have only fueled the growing anticipation for the project, which is Vijay's last film before he devotes himself fully to politics. With only a few days left for release, Vinoth's remarks have become a major talking point among fans and cinema lovers.

Vinoth said, "'Jana Nayagan' should not be seen as Vijay sir's last film. It should be seen as the first film of a sitting Chief Minister." He added that the movie is not designed only to celebrate Vijay's image. "This is not just a commercial entertainer made to glorify Vijay, sir. It deals with sensitive political issues and talks about the battle between those who try to weaken democracy and those who stand up to protect it. I believe people will discuss the politics in this film after watching it," he said.

The director also revealed an interesting detail about the film's title. "We even planned to use 'Naalaiya Theerpu,' the title of Vijay sir's first film, as the title for this project. We wanted to connect his first film with what many see as his last film. Later, we decided that Jana Nayagan suited the story much better," Vinoth shared.

Director recalls Vijay's feedback and the remake that followedH. Vinoth also spoke about an earlier script narration with Vijay that never took shape. "When I narrated another story to Vijay sir, he liked the first half, but he felt the second half was too heavy. He then told me, 'I really liked this film. Have you watched it? Go and watch it. If you like it too, why don't you make it?' referring to Bhagavanth Kesari," the director recalled.

He admitted that remaking the Telugu hit was not an easy decision. "After the 'Pink' remake 'Nekonda Paarvai' with Ajith sir, my career changed for the better, and I was hesitant to do another remake. At the same time, I did not want to miss the opportunity to work with Vijay sir, especially on what could be his last film. The original was made for Nandamuri Balakrishna's world, and I was scared about adapting it to suit Tamil audiences. But we worked on it carefully and made it our own," H. Vinoth explained.
