Stellantis has announced a significant leadership reshuffle, with two of its most prominent brands, Jeep and Ram, set to operate under new chief executives. Effective immediately, Matt VanDyke assumes responsibility for Ram, taking over from Tim Kuniskis, while Branden Coté will succeed Bob Broderdorf at Jeep as the latter takes a medical leave. These appointments are part of Stellantis CEO Antonio Filosa’s broader reorganization plan, which has been a defining element of his leadership following the departure of former CEO Carlos Tavares. VanDyke replaces Kuniskis, who had been managing both Ram and the overall Stellantis American brand portfolio since last year. Despite the change, VanDyke will continue to report directly to Kuniskis, who retains oversight of Stellantis’ North American operations. With over two decades of experience in marketing, sales, product planning, and motorsport management, VanDyke is considered a strong fit for his new role, which begins with immediate effect.

Branden Coté’s elevation is somewhat different, as Jeep’s current CEO, Bob Broderdorf, is temporarily stepping away from his position due to medical reasons. Coté will officially take charge of Jeep, the brand known for its iconic seven-slot grille, on August 3, and like VanDyke, will report to Kuniskis. Stellantis has confirmed that Broderdorf will not be exiting the company permanently; instead, a new executive position will be available for him once he is ready to return to active duty.

“Matt and Branden are proven leaders who will build on our achievements and propel these iconic American brands to new heights,” Kuniskis said in the official statement announcing the appointments. “Their expertise and deep-rooted industry experience align perfectly with our simple yet crucial goal: focusing on customers by offering the brands and products they love and trust. I also want to extend my gratitude to Bob Broderdorf for his outstanding leadership at Jeep. Bob is a valued leader, colleague, and friend to many within the company. I look forward to collaborating with him again when he takes on his new responsibilities.”

This leadership transition comes at a pivotal time for Stellantis. As Jeep and Ram remain the company’s primary profit generators, their performance is critical to Stellantis’ financial strength. While Jeep continues to recover from a period of declining sales, Ram is preparing for a major lineup expansion. With VanDyke and Coté taking on day-to-day leadership duties, Kuniskis will now be able to dedicate more focus to strategic planning across the North American business. Given his continued oversight, both Ram and Jeep are expected to remain strongly aligned with his vision moving forward.
