New Delhi. Bollywood actors have also been divided into two camps over the ongoing movement in Delhi over alleged irregularities in the NEET exam and the demand for education reforms. Shabana Azmi, Prakash Raj and Diljit Dosanjh have supported the students’ movement, while BJP MPs Kangana Ranaut and Hema Malini have raised questions over the manner of the protest.

Shabana Azmi reached Jantar Mantar and joined the protest and supported the demand for the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and an impartial investigation into the matter. He said that the government has finally agreed to talks. When he was asked a question on the absence of other film stars, he said that it is not right to question only the artists, the same questions should be asked to big industrialists also. Diljit Dosanjh posted on social media in support of the students and said that they should not be treated like this. He appealed to the authorities to listen to the demands of the students and said that the voice of the public should be respected.

On the other hand, Kangana said that this kind of demonstration outside the Parliament is not a democratic way. He claimed that the situation had become so tense during the protest that the MPs were trapped in the Parliament complex itself. Praising the Delhi Police, he said that the police themselves suffered injuries to handle the situation, but did not allow any MP to be harmed. BJP MP Hema Malini also opposed the demonstration. He said that the government is continuously working to improve the education system and such movements will not yield any solution. According to him, the issue should be resolved through dialogue and students should not be misled.
