The CJP protest over the alleged NEET paper leak wasn’t limited to Delhi. Demonstrations were also held in Mumbai on Sunday, where several people gathered at Chaityabhoomi in support of the movement. Amid the protest, Swara Bhasker took to social media claiming that her husband, political activist Fahad Ahmad, had been detained by Mumbai Police. The actor also shared videos from the protest, saying several demonstrators had been taken into custody.
Swara Bhasker Claims Fahad Ahmad Was Detained Amid The Mumbai ProtestSwara Bhasker shared a video on Instagram showing Fahad Ahmad being escorted away by Mumbai Police during the protest at Chaityabhoomi in Dadar.
In the clip, Fahad can be heard asking the officers, “Why are you arresting me?” According to Swara, the video was recorded around 4:30 pm.
Sharing the video, she claimed that Fahad and several other protesters were being held at Mahim Police Station.
Along with the footage, Swara wrote, “Mumbai Police detaining @fahadzirarahmad and other protestors at #Chaityabhoomi in Mumbai on 20 July 2026, at 4:30 pm. They are currently being detained at Mahim Police Station. This is India’s democracy. Shameful state of affairs (sic).”

Another Video Shared From Inside The Police VehicleSwara later uploaded another video that appeared to show Fahad sitting inside a police vehicle after his detention.
According to the actor, Fahad had sent her the clip and asked her to post it online.
Sharing the video, she wrote, “I received this video at 4:30 pm on July 20, 2026, from @fahadzirarahmad. He asked me to post it. Mumbai Police is allegedly attacking peaceful protesters at #Chaityabhoomi in Mumbai. Those in solidarity, please reach Chaityabhoomi peacefully and in large numbers (sic).”

According to News 18 reports, several protesters were detained during the Chaityabhoomi demonstration. Some people were also reportedly injured during the police action. However, officials have yet to confirm the exact number of detentions or injuries.
The Mumbai protest took place on the same day as the CJP’s ‘Sansad Chalo’ march in Delhi. Thousands of people gathered at Jantar Mantar demanding action over the alleged NEET paper leak and education reforms.
Actors Shabana Azmi and Prakash Raj were among those who joined the protest in Delhi, along with CJP leader Abijeet Dipke and several other supporters.
