An IPS trainee attempted suicide after a case of sexual harassment was registered. He has been admitted to the hospital. In his suicide note, the trainee has termed the allegations as false and claimed to be in a relationship with a female colleague.
Hyderabad: A sensational case has come to light in the prestigious Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy of Hyderabad. Here, an IPS trainee Udaya Krishna Reddy has been admitted to the hospital in a critical condition. It is suspected that he has tried to commit suicide by consuming poison. This incident happened when one of his female colleagues filed a case of sexual harassment against him.
Udaya Krishna Reddy was found unconscious at his friend's house on Sunday night, after which he was immediately taken to the hospital. At present he is under the observation of doctors and complete information about his condition is not yet available.
The whole affair started when a 30-year-old female IPS trainee lodged a complaint against Uday Krishna with the Attapur police. The woman alleged that Uday Krishna sexually harassed her, threatened her and tried to blackmail her by making a private video of her without her permission. According to the complaint, the accused was constantly stalking her, sending obscene messages on WhatsApp and pressurizing her to believe that she was having an affair with another IPS trainee. The woman also alleged that Reddy forcefully took away her phone, unlocked it and read all the private chats. The complaint also mentions assault in his room.
On the basis of these allegations, the police had registered a case against Udaya Krishna Reddy under sections of BNS (Indian Judicial Code) and IT Act. Shortly after the case was registered, he was found unconscious.
But this story took a new turn when the police found a two-page suicide note written by Udaya Krishna Reddy. In this note, Reddy has termed all the allegations against him as false. He has claimed that he and the complaining woman were in a relationship. The note reads, "We were in a relationship since June 2025. Our relationship continued even after her marriage."
Reddy further wrote in the note that the woman had come into his room and tried to assault him, the video of which he had made only for his own protection. The note also contains a shocking claim. According to Reddy, "On July 9, she (the woman) forced herself into my room saying that she was having 'extreme sexual desire' and kissed me without my consent. I made a video of it and sent it to her husband." Reddy wrote that he had forbidden the woman to enter the room several times, but she did not agree. Police have taken possession of the suicide note and started investigating the case.
