Union Bank Recruitment 2026: Union Bank of India has announced a recruitment drive for candidates aspiring to become officers in the banking sector. Applications are invited for a total of 395 posts, comprising Specialist Officers, General Banking Officers, and Domain Expert Officers, under the 2026-27 recruitment project. The online application process began on July 21, and candidates can apply until August 10. This recruitment will be on a regular basis, and selected candidates will be posted across the country based on the bank’s requirements.
Breakdown of posts and vacancies
This recruitment drive aims to fill positions at the levels of Manager, Senior Manager, Chief Manager, Assistant General Manager, and Deputy General Manager. The vacancies are distributed as follows: 163 posts for Manager, 153 for Senior Manager, 52 for Chief Manager, 20 for Assistant General Manager, and 7 for Deputy General Manager.
Application, fees, and age limit
The application fee is ₹177 for candidates belonging to SC, ST, and PwBD categories, while candidates from all other categories are required to pay ₹1,180. Age limits vary according to the specific post; the minimum age for most posts is 22 years, while the maximum age ranges from 30 to 50 years. Candidates from reserved categories will receive age relaxation as per regulations.
Selection process for all posts
For posts at the MMGS-2 and MMGS-3 levels, the selection process will involve an online examination (if required), followed by a group discussion, personal interview, document verification, and a medical examination. Meanwhile, for senior positions ranging from SMGS-4 to TEGS-6, group discussions, secondary assessments, and interviews may be conducted. For Specialist Officer roles, the online examination will primarily test professional knowledge relevant to the specific field, whereas the test for General Banking Officer roles will include questions on reasoning, quantitative aptitude, English language, and professional knowledge. A negative marking of 0.25 marks will apply for incorrect answers.
Annual package of up to ₹47 lakh
Selected candidates will receive an attractive salary commensurate with their position. The starting salary scale at the Manager level will begin at ₹64,820, while the scale for the Deputy General Manager position will go up to ₹1,56,500. According to the bank, the estimated annual CTC for various positions ranges from approximately ₹21 lakh to ₹47 lakh. Additionally, benefits such as Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance, medical facilities, Leave Fare Concession, and other allowances will be provided.
Probation and Service Bond
Selected candidates will be required to complete a two-year probation period. A three-year service bond will also be applicable upon appointment. If a candidate resigns before the completion of the stipulated period, they will be required to pay the prescribed bond amount and applicable taxes associated with the position.
