Kabul. The severe flood in Nuristan province of Afghanistan has caused large-scale devastation. So far 20 people have died due to flash floods in Parun city and its surrounding areas. More than 80 people have been injured, while more than 100 people are still reported missing. This natural disaster that came after heavy rains has affected many villages. The administration fears that the death toll may increase further as the rescue operation progresses. Relief and rescue operations are continuing in the hilly areas.

After the flood, the Taliban’s National Disaster Management Authority said that there was heavy damage in Parun and many surrounding areas. A large number of people have been affected by this disaster and property has also been heavily damaged. Relief and rescue teams have been sent to the affected areas, which are assessing the damage along with searching for the missing people. Officials say it may take time for the situation to become completely normal, as access to many areas still remains difficult.

Most of the area of ​​Nuristan is mountainous and road connectivity is limited. This is the reason why relief and rescue teams are finding it difficult to reach the affected villages. Roads have been washed away or blocked with debris at many places. In such a situation, rescue workers have to reach the affected people on foot or through alternative routes. The administration has deployed special teams to search for missing people, help the injured and assess the damage. The number of dead and injured is expected to change as rescue operations continue.

Many residential houses have been completely damaged in this severe flood. A large number of shops, agricultural land and other properties were also washed away or badly affected by the flood waters. Due to this the local people have suffered huge economic losses. Many families are facing crisis of livelihood and livelihood. The administration is still making a complete assessment of the damage. Due to the high number of missing people, the concern of the affected families is continuously increasing.

Afghanistan has been facing natural disasters like floods, droughts, landslides and storms for a long time.
