Successful completion of the annual exhibition and capacity development workshop of Smartpur project in Simen Chapri.

Assam Dhemaji. An annual exhibition and capacity development workshop on the topic “Smartpur Impact & Insights: Annual Showcasing and Capacity Building Workshop” was organized on Monday under the aegis of REACHA and with the support of Nokia at the Agricultural Science Center Simen Chapri in Dhemaji district. The objective of the workshop was to review the work, achievements and experiences done in the last one year under the Smartpur project and to discuss the upcoming action plan. During this period, special emphasis was laid on providing digital literacy, skill development and technology-based services to the common people more effectively in rural areas.

Dr. Gunjan Gogoi, senior scientist and head of Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Dr. Ghanakant Dale of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Department, Ghanakant Basumtari of RSETI, Saurabh Shah of ReachA, Medini Tasha and Naba Kaman, Dhemaji District Coordinator of IIE Vijay Dutt, District Child Protection Officer (DCPO) in-charge of DCPU Bhuvan Taye, Sub-Divisional Fisheries Development Officer Jayant Milli and Dharamraj Karki of ReachA were present in the program. All the employees of the Smartpur project and members of the management committees of various centers were present.

Speakers at the workshop said that the main objective of the Smartpur project is to connect rural communities with education, employment, government services and self-employment opportunities through digital technology. The participants shared their experiences for the successful implementation of the project and also gave suggestions to make it more effective in future.
