Is the Bengali meal complete without raw chili? Whether it’s raw chilli paste in vegetable curry, or chopped green chillies in fish curry, or whole green chillies in leaves – if you don’t have to buy it at the store, you can pick it up from your home garden, wouldn’t it be fun! You can easily plant a lankara tree in a tub on the balcony of the house. How to take care of him? The method is very simple (Gardening Tips For Chilli Plant)!

Step 1: Prepare the right soil mix

Chilli plants grow best in light, well-drained soil. Mix compost, cow dung and a small amount of sand with garden soil to create ideal soil. It will keep the soil fertile and the air moving.

Step 2: Select the appropriate tub

A medium-sized clay tub is best. The bottom of the tub must have drainage holes, so that excess water does not rot the roots. Fill the prepared soil mixture in the tub, wet it with light water.

Step 3: Use good quality seeds/seedlings

You can buy good chilli seedlings from nurseries or collect seeds from raw chillies at home. Sow the seeds about 2-3 inches deep in the soil and spread the soil thinly over it.

Step 4: Water properly

After sowing, keep the soil moist, but do not overwater. It is better to water in the morning and evening during summer, and water as needed after seeing the dryness of the soil in winter.

Step 5: Give it enough sunlight

Chilli plants need at least 5-6 hours of direct sunlight per day. Give the plant some protection from the intense midday sun in summer. Keeping the plant in the sun for longer periods of time during winter will promote better growth.

Step 6: Apply fertilizer regularly

Apply organic fertilizers every 15-20 days for better yield. For example, compost, cow dung or vermicompost. Even if mustard shell fertilizer is used in winter, the nutrition of the plant increases.

Step 7: Protection from insects and diseases

Chilli plants can suffer from fungal and insect problems during monsoons. Neem oil solution can be sprayed. However, if white powdery spots appear on the leaves, take immediate action so that the disease does not spread.

Usually in 30-40 days, small flowers start to appear on the pepper plant. Later, from that flower, chili is made. A tree can bear fruit for 3–4 months if properly cared for. But don’t plant more than one chili plant in one tub. And don’t bury the seeds too deep in the soil.
