Ridiculousness. A sensation spread when the body of a 16-year-old minor girl was found in a pond in the village on Tuesday afternoon in Chatiya village of Lakshmipur outpost, adjacent to the India-Nepal border under Thuthibari police station area of Maharajganj district. The girl was missing from home since Monday. The family kept searching for him throughout the night.
According to the police, the girl had left home on Monday and did not return till late night. On Tuesday around 12 noon, when the villagers saw the dead body floating in the pond, they immediately informed the police. Thuthibari police reached the spot after receiving information, took possession of the body, filled Panchnama and sent it for post-mortem.
Thoothibari Kotwal Amit Singh said that prima facie it seems to be a case of drowning, but the exact cause of death will be clear only after the post mortem report comes. At present the police is investigating the matter and the people nearby are being interrogated. On the basis of missing person, a case will be registered and further action will be taken.
As soon as information about the incident was received, a large number of villagers gathered in the village. The death of the minor created chaos in the family. There is an atmosphere of mourning in the area after this incident. Police say that every aspect is being investigated. Further action will be taken on the basis of post mortem report and evidence.
