The average prices of gold according to different purity in the Indian market today are as follows:

Keep these 3 things in mind while buying gold

  1. Must check Hallmark (BIS Hallmarking): While buying gold, definitely look for BIS hallmark mark and 6 digit HUID number on it. 916 is written on 22 carat and 750 is written on 18 carat.

  2. Take account of making charges and taxes: While buying jewellery, apart from the original price of gold, make sure to get a separate bill for making charges and 3% GST.

  3. Ask for a confirmed bill: Do not forget to get a confirmed GST bill from the jeweler for ease of selling or exchanging gold in future.
