Mammootty gifts chocolates to young fans; their reply, 'We won't eat these, we'll frame them instead' wins hearts

Veteran actor Mammootty 's fourth National Film Award for Best Actor has been followed by several congratulatory messages from fans and celebrities as well. Among the many tributes shared online, one heartfelt post by his personal PRO Robert Kuriakose is winning the internet for all the right reasons.
Robert recounted a memorable meeting between Mammootty and his two young sons, aged six and eleven.
Sharing the emotional memory, he wrote, "എന്നെക്കണ്ടല്ല, സിനിമകൾ കണ്ടുകണ്ടാണ് അവർ ആ മനുഷ്യനെ ഇഷ്ടപ്പെട്ടത്. ഏറ്റവും ഒടുവിൽ ചെന്നപ്പോൾ രണ്ടുപേർക്കും ഓട്ടോഗ്രാഫ് വേണം. ഒരാൾ കൈത്തണ്ട നീട്ടി..മറ്റൊരാൾ ഷർട്ടിന്റെ കോളറും. 'മാഞ്ഞുപോകില്ലേ..' എന്ന് അദ്ദേഹം ചോദിച്ചപ്പോൾ 'ഞാനിത് ഇനി കഴുകില്ലെ'ന്ന് ഷർട്ടിൽ ഒപ്പുവാങ്ങിയവന്റെ മറുപടി. മറ്റവൻ ഉള്ളിൽ പറഞ്ഞുകാണും, 'കൈയിലല്ല,മനസ്സിലാണ് ഒപ്പിട്ടതെന്നും അതുകൊണ്ട് ഒരിക്കലും മായില്ലെന്നും..'ഒപ്പിനൊപ്പം ചോക്ലേറ്റ് നീട്ടിയപ്പോൾ മൂത്തവൻ പറഞ്ഞു: 'ഞങ്ങളിത് കഴിക്കില്ല,ഫ്രെയിം ചെയ്തുവയ്ക്കും...'"
("It wasn't because of me that they admired him. They fell in love with the man by watching his films. When we met him recently, both of them wanted his autograph. One stretched out his forearm, while the other offered the collar of his shirt. When he asked, 'Won't it fade away?' the boy who chose the shirt replied, 'I'm never going to wash this again.' The other probably thought to himself, 'The autograph isn't on my hand—it's in my heart. That will never fade.' When he handed them chocolates along with the autographs, the elder one said, 'We won't eat these. We'll frame them instead.'"
He further wrote, "നിങ്ങൾ അപ്പനേം വെട്ടുന്ന ഫാൻസ് ആണല്ലോ എന്ന് പൊട്ടി ചിരിച്ചു കൊണ്ട് മമ്മൂക്ക.ആറും പതിനൊന്നും വയസ്സ് പ്രായമുള്ള കുട്ടികളുടെ ഉള്ളിൽപ്പോലും പതിഞ്ഞുകിടക്കുന്ന മുഖത്തിന്...ഏതുതലമുറയുടെ ഉള്ളിലെയും മായാത്ത കൈയൊപ്പിന്...ഒരിക്കലും അലിഞ്ഞുപോകാത്ത മധുരത്തിന്...അഭിമാനത്തോടെ ആശംസകൾ..." Fourth National Award for 'Bramayugam'
Mammootty won the Best Actor honour at the 72nd National Film Awards for his performance in horror film 'Bramayugam'. The veteran actor shared the prestigious award with Kartik Aaryan, who was recognised for his performance in 'Chandu Champion'.
Following the announcement, congratulatory messages poured in from actors such as Mohanlal, Kamal Haasan, Chiranjeevi, filmmakers and fans across the country. Mammootty also responded by expressing gratitude to everyone who contributed to the film's success.
He shared, "Heartfelt congratulations to @dhanushkraja, Vaikom Vijayalakshmi , Shehnad Jalal , @Rajkumar_KP, Team Feminichi Fathima , Team Bhadra Kali Natakam, and all the winners of the coveted National Awards.
