Ayesha Khan, who gained fame with the song 'Shararat' from the Ranveer Singh film Dhurandhar, was apprehended by Mumbai Police on July 22. The actress took to Instagram to reveal that she and two of her female friends were detained for merely 'standing on the road peacefully'. She posted videos from inside the police vehicle, highlighting that it required four policewomen to assist in her entry into the van.

Ayesha Khan Criticizes Mumbai Police Following Her Detention

In one of the videos shared by Ayesha, she expressed her disbelief, stating, "My hands are literally shivering right now. I have been detained just for standing on the road peacefully. I did not even say a word or start a protest. I was just standing because my brother and male friends were detained. We were just standing on the road, my other two female friends and me." In another clip, she inquired about their destination, but received no response, prompting her to question, "How do you all sleep peacefully at night after doing this?"

In a subsequent post, Ayesha demanded clarity on her detention, asking, "Unfortunately, it took four police women to pull me in. But I ask the same question again, why? Did I make a noise? Did I even start a conversation? Detained me for what? For standing in the road? Wasn't even in the group of 5." She also shared a comprehensive video detailing her experience from the Worli police station, stating that she was detained before she could even engage in a conversation. The actress, known for her role in Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2, called for accountability regarding the treatment she and her friends received.
