Jana Nayagan, starring Vijay, has been making headlines ever since reports emerged that it is inspired by the Telugu hit Bhagavanth Kesari. The makers also confirmed the same in multiple interviews. Amid the ongoing discussions, director Anil Ravipudi, who made the original, has now clarified his involvement in the project in his latest interview. Speaking about the film, Anil Ravipudi stated that the Jana Nayagan team acquired the official rights to Bhagavanth Kesari. However, he revealed that they only used a few sequences from the original film and developed an entirely new story around those elements. The successful director also made it clear that he was not involved in the creative process of the Tamil film. According to him, the makers independently adapted the material after acquiring the rights.
