Indian spinner Kuldeep Yadav has decided to play in the County Championship. Kuldeep signed with English county club Yorkshire on Wednesday (22nd). He will make eight appearances for the team this season. Kuldeep was not in the Indian team for a while, but now he will be playing county cricket. He will play in Yorkshire’s domestic ODI Cup in England from July 24 to August 2. Kuldeep will also make three appearances for Yorkshire in the County Championship.

“We are delighted to announce the signing of Indian spinner Kuldeep Yadav as an overseas player,” Yorkshire County Cricket Club said on its website. The 31-year-old will be available for five one-day internationals (ODIs) before returning to Headingley for three of the last four matches of the County Championship in September.
Kuldeep keen to join Yorkshire
On joining Yorkshire, Kuldeep said, ‘I am very happy to join Yorkshire and I am grateful for this opportunity. It will be a truly honored moment for me to represent such a historic club as Yorkshire. I’ve always loved the challenge of playing in the conditions in England and after speaking to the management, I’m really looking forward to joining the team.’ Kuldeep Yadav will be the fifth Indian player to play for Yorkshire.
India head coach Gautam Gambhir has not shown much faith in his abilities, but the Yorkshire management believes that Kuldeep will be beneficial to the team in the conditions in England. Yorkshire’s General Manager of Cricket, Gavin Hamilton said, “Kuldeep is an outstanding international class player who will be a huge asset to our team during these matches.
Strong performance by Kuldeep
Kuldeep has taken 79 wickets in 18 Test matches, his best being five wickets for 40 runs. His best performance was in the home series against England in 2024, where he took 19 wickets in five matches. He has taken 194 wickets in ODIs, his best being six wickets for 25 runs.
